23 & 24 August 2024
Welcome to the Siyafunda Slog, a unique and unforgettable two-day walking/hiking challenge set in the beautiful Makalali Game Reserve in Limpopo, South Africa. Hosted by Siyafunda, this event will take place on August 23rd and 24th, 2024 and offers the perfect opportunity to challenge yourself while supporting conservation efforts in Makalali and beyond.
Embark on a 100 km walk along the fence-line of the Makalali Game Reserve, where you’ll be tested on your fitness and walking abilities, covering 50 km each day. With a restful overnight camp set in a riverbed within the reserve, you’ll be able to refuel and recharge for the next day.
By participating in the Siyafunda Slog, you’ll not only challenge yourself, but you’ll also have the chance to raise funds for conservation efforts. By reaching out to your network for donations, you’ll play a part in highlighting the difficulties faced by field rangers and anti-poaching teams in their daily efforts to protect our natural resources and combat poaching.
Spaces for the Siyafunda Slog are limited to 30, and we encourage interested individuals to apply for a spot on the website. Open to all nationalities, this event provides the perfect opportunity to challenge yourself and make a positive impact on conservation. Application evaluations will be based on the answers provided in the form.
